FED:Employer groups sexist: ACTU

ACTU president GED KEARNEY has accused mean-spirited employer groups who've attacked
the pay rise for community sector workers of being sexist.

Ms KEARNEY's accused business groups of clinging to outdated ideas that devalue the
role of women in the workforce.

About 150 thousand community sector workers across the country, mostly women, were
yesterday awarded a pay rise by Fair Work Australia in a landmark test case.

But the move hasn't been welcomed by all sectors of the community.

Ms KEARNEY says employer groups are acting as if the sky's falling in and accused them
of scare mongering over concerns the decision will lead to fresh claims in other sectors.
